What is Dietary Therapy?
Dietary Therapy is a healthcare system that helps to correct dietary imbalances and nutritional deficiencies. You are what you eat, or more precisely you are what you eat, digest and absorb. We have to eat simply to stay alive, but what we eat and drink can either help to keep us vital and healthy or can result in depleted energy and poor overall health.
It is not simply how much we eat that is important but rather the nutritional value and variety of the diet. Although it is very important that we all eat a healthy balanced diet, we are not all the same. The type of diet that works for one person may not be right for another.
How does it work?
Dietary Therapy works by looking in detail at an individual's symptoms and signs, bringing them together to form a more comprehensive view of their current state of health. Each person completes a detailed questionnaire prior to the consultation. During the consultation the client is asked to expand on areas that might be relevant and to discuss what they would like to gain from dietary therapy.
Once a picture has been formed, diet and lifestyle suggestions are made which are specific to the individual. At least one follow up consultation will be required so that progress can be monitored.
